Activities of Atelier A.KONOMI

I weave on low-warp looms, relying on inherited skills and traditional tapestry techniques while incorporating contemporary
approaches to meet a wide variety of requests and collaborations.
Through a sensitive reading of images and technical mastery, I faithfully interpret each project in tapestry.

Every tapestry is a thoughtful interpretation, woven thread by thread.

My practice combines artisanal precision with a sensitive eye, allowing me to respond to diverse projects while maintainin high execution quality and depth of interpretation.

Observe, listen, weave.

I constantly seek the right balance between hand, image, and material.

Public Project Commissions

chaplet

I take part in large-scale tapestry projects as a project manager or freelance weaver for public or private institutions.
Respecting the specifications and expectations of artists and clients, I pay close attention to the precision of details and the aesthetic balance of each piece.
I am often entrusted with complex aspects of major projects — such as creating and composing color shades by blending different threads, organization, and technical specifications — as well as the weaving itself, where my craftsmanship and discernment are fully called upon.

Interpretation and Realization of Client Images

Based on drawings or visuals you entrust to me, I interpret the image and translate it into tapestry.

I take time to observe, understand the intention, create the cartoon, carefully blend and select the shades of yarn, and then weave—attentively respecting the rhythms, textures, and tones.

My aim is for the woven version to remain faithful to the spirit of the original image, while finding its own voice through thematerial.

Artistic Collaborations

I collaborate with visual artists, adapting my techniques to their intentions through attentive dialogue and shared experimentation.

Together, we explore the best way to let their artistic world enter the language of weaving.

These woven dialogues give birth to singular works, born from the encounter between two artistic worlds and shaped by the expressive potential of textile.

Original Creations — Woven Explorations

Based on my own concepts and ideas, I design and weave original tapestries inspired by my sketches and visual
research.

Each piece emerges from a free exploration of materials, forms, and woven narratives, and may be created for exhibitions, commissions, or private collections.
